THE PARTY IS TONIGHT---*
and she thinks they're playing her song.
Staying at home just wasn’t an option. It was Friday night for Christ sake. Everleigh hadn’t stayed home on a Friday night in years! After the cops busted the after-party Everleigh was at, she took a taxi home, but she knew she wasn’t staying for long. She was in no mood to see her drunken mother and idiot of a step-father for any more time than what was absolutely necessary (aka: holidays and when she needed some cash). After letting herself in through the front door, she rushed through the foyer and upstairs, hoping no one would notice that she was back, and went to her bedroom, locking the door behind her. She may have been high at the moment, but she was no idiot. Almost a year ago, Everleigh came home from school and found her mom snorting some fresh coke she had hidden in her sock drawer, and needless to say, she was furious. She immediately installed the lock on her bedroom door the very next day and has used it everyday since; that way her mother couldn’t get her grubby little hands on her drugs.
Everleigh plopped down onto her California King sized bed and opened up her laptop. She logged on to the internet really quick, and chatted with Sasha Fitzgerald, one of her good friends. They soon decided on going to Elevate together. Elevate was Everleigh’s usual hangout if she wasn’t at someone’s house party, so she was excited to be reunited with her standard stomping grounds.
After shutting down her computer, Everleigh grabbed her fake ID, Blackberry, and a fifty dollar bill before grabbing her cropped leather jacket and heading out the door. She took the nearest elevator down to the first floor and exited her building through the revolving glass doorway. She was able to grab a quick smoke before she saw a bright yellow taxi cab pull over to the side of the curb where Everleigh was standing. The window of the backseat rolled down and it was Sasha, telling Everleigh to hop in so they could make it to Elevate in time before all of the VIP spots were full. Everleigh flicked her cigarette to the ground and stomped on it with her white stilettos before rushing to the cab and sliding into the backseat. “Hey, Fitz!” said Everleigh as she gave her friend a light hug with one arm. “You ready for this?” she asked with a sly grin on her face.[/blockquote]
