set on the stunning south coast, brighton is a city like no other; its vibrant and free-spirited atmosphere attracts residents from all walks of life, particularly creative types such as musicians and artists. there are a large number of pubs, bars and clubs giving the city its busy nightlife but it is also the quintessential seaside resort - with the amazing beach and the arcades and funfair on the world-famous pier, there's plenty to do here during the day. eight million tourists flock to brighton each year but there are around five hundred thousand full time residents, many of these being students. as well as the legendary university and private schools, there are various state high schools and sixth form colleges offering education to those who are less financially blessed. but what the travel guides never tell you is that education is rarely on the young people's minds. just like in any other city they're far more occupied with drinking, drugs, sex and causing trouble. no one ever paid much attention to this before but recently it has been more extreme than ever - unless you consider murder to be a part of everyday life. the rivalry between west park comprehensive and st. edmund's private school has always been around but it never went past the occasional fight until a few months ago, when one of these so-called petty brawls went much too far and a st. edmund's kid ended up dead. suddenly the students at elmwood college and brighton university are finding themselves being forced to pick a side, being pulled into a fight that isn't theirs.will they be able to see past the class divide or will all hell break loose?
